No miracle, nothing is impossible to God; it is stated that Jesus told, rightly you wish to be in the new creation, you must be born, fresh at each time of birth; further, Jesus gave us new order for living; start the Gospel of John, and you will discover God as you would find God loves you and God always wants you for good. As Jesus taught about sin and salvation; now it is clear; the purpose is evident; well said, well done; post god speed more; positively encouraging editing, negatively not wording, forgiving errors of theist-good authors-writers. I found this really interesting to read, Deniz, and I'll be reading Paul again. It's been years and need to get to know him more. You have opened my eyes in many ways, and for that I'm grateful. I have always, always believed in God and His Son, Jesus. I never needed explanations, I just believed. Now I think I should read and get to know his apostles more. Thank you for this. Superb writing. :)) Sandra xx

A beautifully written essay, clear and authentic, full of truth and wisdom. I could find nothing at all to improve on this. Punctuation, spelling and theme are all perfect and most readable. I think it is ready to send to a religious magazine. Six stars for this, without hesitation. MM

Thank you, God is good! I've gotten some interesting feed back on this one. I think there is a common, and on some level, understandable resistance, by Christians to continue studying the Word of God beyond what we already have received.
I'm sorry to find that because I honestly believe we are meant to know the whole Word of God.
We are all so afraid of being mistaken for "know-it-alls" we shun speaking with the authority of the Scriptures.
Paul said in Romans12:1: I beseech[a] you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
So let's keep learning so we can stay spiritually fresh and able to serve God more effectually to His glory. God bless!

Hello Dennis,
Thanks for sharing your understanding of the word. There are still a number of things that I don't understand in the bible. I'm a big fan of Paul. His conversion made perfect sense, and the fact that he was so zealous for God, persecuting Christians in the belief that he was doing God's will, he was the perfect person to address both the Jews and the gentiles. I can't fathom having the kind of faith he had to endure the trials he did without complaint. I appreciate you bro.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

This is wonderful reading. Thank you for sharing it. I am so glad we were grafted in with the jews to be saved. I am listening through the Bible, that are using actors as the biblical characters. It is great, and I'm hearing things my mind must have skipped over when I read through it. Anyway, great job. Have a great evening. Shirley

Deniz,

You have very clearly explained what it means to be a Christian and born again. Paul's role was huge, and probably under appreciated. His writing style can sometimes be confusing, but every word is priceless. Nice write.

Sue

Re second paragraph: the general rule is that digits zero through nine are spelled out in text (unless a part of something else like 1 John).

Thank you for presenting the gospel.
My wish, though, is that those intending their words to be read by the un-churched, refrain from churchy words. 1) they could turn people off, and 2) they often require definition (sometimes introducing doctrine instead of Christ), and 3) they are often multi-syllabic and too difficult for some.
Best wishes.

I have to take a different view than you have expressed. IMHO, doctrine begins with Christ, as it is the truth about Christ. It also leads into His agenda for this world and the world to come.
We are sometimes so concerned with getting people born-again as babes in Christ we are remiss in providing spiritual food which is age-appropriate. Milk for babies, meat for men.

God is interested in seeing us grow in grace but such cannot happen without deeper teaching from the Word of God.

Jesus often taught things which were at first misunderstood, but became plain as His men stayed with Him and got their questions answered. God bless, thanks for reviewing.

Just suggesting you consider your audience. You are on FanStory hawking raw meat. What's our goal, to impress, or win souls?
reply by the author on 01-May-2022
So what are you ?hawking?? I find those so concerned with delivery are seldom in the business.
reply by Wayne Fowler on 01-May-2022
    No, I'm not a preacher.
I don't know what ?hawking? is

The incredible thing that happened to me was the veil was lifted from the eyes of my heart, I simply never understood who Jesus really was, and yet it's the most simple of concepts, that is rebirth as I understand it, but still the confession of belief is the power to open the windows of Heaven, beautifully written Bro Dennis, blessings Roy

As I read the truth of your words, it made me wonder who you were addressing. Everyone? Christians? Or is this piece something you wrote for yourself, to encourage yourself in God? If it helps, I didn't understand words like edification before I was a Christian. If you talked about "Building up" instead, that might make it more accessible.

I understand your point. I hope you will understand mine? You know what edification means now? That?s called growth in understanding. If we always talk baby talk, and keep all teaching at the entry level, we will have churches filled with spiritual babies.
It?s obvious people are comfortable with what they understand but believers are meant to have a grasp of the whole Bible.
This takes time and a casual reading of the Gospel record reveals Christ was misunderstood as He went deeper into God?s revelation.
If we continue in His Word, we will grow in understanding of terms unknown to us when we began. Thanks for reviewing and God bless you.

I don't think that's what Paul meant when he talked about being spiritually mature. He was talking about not keeping on doing wrong and not having to go over the same teachings over and over again. Yes, I do understand what edification means now, but I'd still rather read a Bible translation that says: "Encourage one another and build one another up" because that's my kind of language. I understand what sanctification means, but if I was explaining it to someone, I might say "Increased holiness". That's not stopping the person from growing; it's just presenting something in a way that doesn't intimidate people. I think Jesus would be ok with that. Don't forget He didn't talk to everyone He met the same way. He used a lot of references to Jewish Law when talking to the Pharisees, which He wouldn't have used when addressing someone like Zacchaeus. I do agree that Jesus was misunderstood, and certain things, He only told His closest followers. As an example, His parable of the sower could be taken simply as a story of a farmer sowing seed, or it could be applied to the kingdom of God. I don't believe it was His language people didn't understand; it was the deeper meaning behind what He said.

The understanding of Biblical terms is a key ingredient of receiving Bible based knowledge. Without an increase in knowledge, Divine truth, growth in grace is stimmed.

The scripture is very precise, and we need to honor that precision by using it's terms, just as Jesus, Paul and the other Apostles did.
reply by Sarah Tummey on 30-Apr-2022
I respect your point-of-view, but I don't agree. There are lots of different translations of the Bible. One will say one thing and another will phrase it a different way. It's the meaning that's important.

Frankly, sounds like a cop out to me. Do you want to go on and continue to learn more of the Word of God, or do you want to defend staying where you are?
So concerned over unbelievers misunderstanding, do you as a believer believe God's Word about continuing to grow in knowledge?

Here's a direct promise to ANYONE from God: Proverbs 1:23: Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you."
How much of His Word? How about all of it? It's not limited to entry level.
ALL of the Bible is knowable by born-again people. Do you think the lame excuse of the multiple translations keeping you from going on is going to fly at the judgement seat of Christ where our works will be evaluated by Him?
And seriously, how many unbelievers have you witnessed to with your overly cautious approach because of the fear of being misunderstood? Or is really the common fear of losing a friend's respect for being "a Jesus freak"?
I'm being purposely direct here and I know you will probably be offended but I am responding as I am because your mind set about these things is not uncommon in the church today and frankly, it's counter productive to Spiritual growth.

So please think it over? You are called, as we all are, to continue growing in grace through the increased knowledge of God given freely to all because of Him who loved us and gave Himself for us. God bless you, Dennis
