Going to hell in a handbasket, we are. Church doors closed or opened to half as many souls. Another part and parcel of government gaining control. Schools can speak trans, gay and what they want, but saying a prayer or denying faith is w r o n g!

Mike, I read through your entire story and found it easy to read and very interesting.
I especially like your piece, because the media, on a larger scale, portrays Christians s being self righteous and fanatical.
They have the wrong idea about loving God.

We see the secular world symbolized by the school administrator trying to manage appearances, according to the secular rules and politically correct atmosphere, worried about a call from his boss. And the faith based people scrambling to find the lost kid, including the class that seems ready to pray and chip in and help in the search. A sympathetic police chief mustering the troops in double quick time, leaning into the problem. Nice definition of characters, great personality in the dialogue, and the dialogue is crisp and realistic. estory

The big guns have been called in to find a little lost boy, who through no fault of his own is being hounded by people who really hate the name of Jesus, who brings a guilt on this world, the devil thought He was out of His hair, but it only served to create a salvation haven for those who believe. Mike, I've not read the prior chapters but this one holds up on its own quite well. I like chapters that are miniature stories and that's what this is. The dialog was crisp and natural. If I was to offer one suggestion it would be to replace the word "snickers" with something else. Snicker implies scorn and I don't think that's what you intended. At least it seems inconsistent with my image of Bob that the other language in the chapter implies.
