Debby,
This is a ice ode to your dad in your poem and in your notes. He seems to be a renaissance man. One that could do almost anything. Which probably gave his children the abiility to believe maybe that they could too. It is good that he allowed to live in all three worlds.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Congrats on the honorable mention in the contest.
Joan

Thank you, Joan! I miss him a great deal and had a blast bragging on him. :) He did instill in us the thought that, if you want it, do it. He even gave that gift to our step-brother (he remarried after Momma passed away) and to those he came in contact with. He was cool to the maximum degree.
Thank you for reading, commenting and for the congrats. :)
    Blessings,
    Deb

Same nose, same eyes, same hair--must be related.
Your contest entry read well, Deb. Good job with
the rules of the contest. Your notes could be turned
into a prose story of your Dad with just a bit of work.
Best wishes in the contest. Jan

Thank you! I'll have to think about that. He was a complex man to try to 'capture'. I have several of his manuscripts that I hope to go through and publish this year. Lots on the calendar, so I'll have to see if I can make that happen. :)

Your father sounds like he was quite the guy. I love that part about acting as agents to cast movies. I can see that he taught you multiple worlds. Thank you for sharing about your father here.

Deb,

That's so cool. When I saw the title and description, I scrolled past the picture and immediately assumed that the couple was your mom and dad. My first thought was - Oh, my stars, your mom is GORGEOUS.

Then you revealed that that was YOU! hahaha And, yeah, that made more sense because of the age diff - but who am I to judge those things, right? And actually, just a few years ago, men (and some women) aged really fast because of the hard work they had to do.

I am so proud of the man you were raised by. This explains so much! hahaha Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed!!

Thank you! You really ARE too kind. And, yes, my momma WAS GORGEOUS... Think Liz Taylor. That kind of gorgeous. But I'll accept your compliment with grace and gratitude. Add about 45 years to that and you have me now! lol.
    Talk soon,
    Deb

-Thanks for sharing the photo, notes, and poem, Debora.
-You certainly had an accomplished father, and he sounds like a wonderful and creative man.
-I love the part of being an agent for the book you read. That would make a great contest prompt.
-I am sorry that you lost both of your parents.
-I lost mine a couple of years before you did.
-You wrote a good poem about him.
-I like the idea of "multiple worlds" and
concluding with what they were.
-A good entry; good luck in the contest.

Thank you! I think everyone (including us kids) enjoyed pretending to be agents the best. :)

I hope your dad ran into my dad in heaven...they sound like kindred spirit souls! My dad used to randomly open one of the volumes of our Encyclopedia Brittanica set -- in lieu of TV -- and somehow wrap us around his little finger while teaching us fascinating things about quarks, aardvarks, and zephyrs. "Reality...faith...dreams"

I can't think of a better legacy to leave you! Very nice and your author's notes made me smile!

My guess is that God let them meet right away! He knows His children better than we know ourselves. They'd make quite a team, our dads. :) You're lucky to have had one that made plain life and objects come to life for you. You now pass that on to us. Thank you!
Andthank you for the kind words - they are appreciated!

I can feel your pride for your girls and know they shine because of it! And, yep, I was his girl. I still write a song and think about singing it for him. But I know God allows him to hear and see what is right for him to experience in God's presence, so who knows... :)

This is a really great short poem and with the poem and your after notes you have made clear what an interesting man your dad was. Best of luck in the three line poem contest.

Hello Debby, a beautiful tribute to your father. Of special note:

You gave me multiple worlds
of reality ... faith ... dreams...

(Good syllable counts. No fill-in words or fluff. Good sensory appeal.)

As this is a contest entry, I wish ou good luck. LateBloomer
