I loved your Chime Operandi here, perfect rhymes and flow, although there are a few hiccups with the metre, it still sounded good to me, I wish I had a six for you as your jars of fruit and veggies are preserved and you told a fine tale here. I am not familiar with this Aesop Fable, but your poem brought the story to us here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Dear Dolly, I am honored you took the time to read my first try at a Chime Operandi. You are right--the meter does hiccup a bit. I will keep trying! Thank you for your inspiration!

Thank you for sharing your poem. It is relatable for this time and age to see how humanity has become the plague, I hope that this will change and your video is appropriate and your words telling. Family, friends, people all of us should share and not judge. We have too short a time to lose it on our fragile spirits. We are tougher lot.

Amen to sharing without judgment! I love the saying of Mark Twain: "There isn't time - so brief is life - for bickerings, apologies, heartburnings, callings to account. there is only time for loving - & but an instant, so to speak, for that."

I'm glad to see this instilled in you, dear Mama. How very blessed you are. My mother worked full time and was single. We lived a much different life. I didn't know about these ways until I lived in New York. Everyone cans up there and gives food as gifts in jars. A wonderful in this form and a delightful video. Thank you!

Thanks for your encouraging words, Sal! I think our backgrounds, while different, make fertile soil for writings to grow. So glad you stopped by!

Hello Mama Baer :)
I really enjoyed reading your chime operandi - you utilised the form beautifully. I especially enjoyed your 'd' rhymed lines.
I love the theme, it's so warm and comforting.
I'ts an honour to take the tour around your family home :)
Best wishes as always, Debra

This is an excellent poem on the virtues of thrift and preparation for lean times ahead. I particulrly liked the way you used the series of short rhyming lines. You created pace effectively. Kate xx
