Hi Shauna,
This poem shows you were comfortable in your home and that is good.
Sometimes one needs to be alone, but too much can start worrying friends and family.
I am an avid reader, so finding a place to perch works for me too.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a good weekend.
Joan

Excellent, as usual! Love you gramma, Ave, Avery, Goosey, Goosey Gander, or even GG :) also! I decided on changing my story completely for the contest (I know, I know) and it is now about a little turtle named Little Jimmy (Tell grandpa that) whose dad died, and he lives with Gramps, Gram, Mama, and his sisters, Shelley, Sally, and Sarah. His home is destroyed was a barracuda shop, and they are living in an inn that stinks of fish (probably because the innkeeper is a fish) and Jimmy is DYING to be done. I can't wait for it to be done!

There is sure nothing wrong with being a home body. A place of comfort and safety, at least as much as one can be in these dangerous times with so many out of control people. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I can completely understand. I think writers are usually introverts. And most introverts like being at home. But even when traveling, we prefer to observe more than engage. So glad you are giving these tributes to your childhood home!

Thank you once again, Helen, my fellow introvert. So very true what you said. I am honored to have you reading my tributes.

I love staying home and ignoring the world (I didn't answer the doorbell today). I related to your poem - the photo you've chosen could almost be me, except my cat is a tabby. I am conflicted between wanting an active outdoorsy life and blobbing at home in my peejays, writing and reading or painting.
(As you are working your way through the alphabet, what will happen after Z to make up your 30 poems?)

Birds of a feather! Ooo, I didn't remember you are a painter! I would love to see some of your work.

Ah, and I think I solved the 26 vs. 30 dilemma--some of the letters will be duplicates (fireplace, flagpole).

A very well-written poem for us homebodies who would rather be at home than anywhere else.
Good choice of picture and color scheme as it is warm and inviting for relaxation at home.
Best wishes,
Mary

You and I are of similar mindsets. I have a large front yard a patio in fron of my home. I have an even larger patio at the rear of my house and an impressively large backyard. I still prefer to spend most of my time indoors, doing what I am doing right now. reading and writing poetry on my computer. Go figure.

Great job here, Mama Baer. For one thing, your setting, coloration, and form in this piece are very professionally done. This, in combination with your smooth lines allowed for a very nice read. I can appreciate the message of being a homebody, as I think many others on this site will appreciate. Thank you for sharing this cute little biographical work. Best of luck to you and your writing on this site.
