Cute story and loved the picture of the geese by the lake. I can relate to this one, because when I was waitressing, I dreamed that a rich elderly lady who I had served many times died and left me all her money. But than I woke up and had to go to work. It was a short lived dream but fun while it lasted.

Ha a mysterious night email from yourself. I sometimes do that but usually I remember because I wrote it when I couldn't sleep and the more I wrote the more I couldn't sleep.

I'm very interested in how the gaggle of geese were the key now.

Thanks for sharing

I love it!! There you have a wonderful illustration of the illusions that dreams can make so very much seem like reality. I i so frustrating when you know the idea was there.

Writer, what a fun little flash fiction. I think we all have been there - living among the PERFECT story before waking and attempting to revisit those lands that we might share with others. But dream memory has precarious footing. I enjoyed the bit where your character managed to email themselves a single clue. Best of luck in the contest.

I enjoyed your wee story. Telling a complete story using only 75 works is truly a challenge, you were successful. Well done. I love the whimsy, it made me smile.

What a fine idea to send an email to yourself. And this is a most entertaining story.

The only thing I would change the category from Humor Non-Fiction to fiction, as it has to be a flash fiction story to avoid disqualification.

That said, what great fun. Wishing you great luck in the voting booth. :))

This is very amusing. It's the sort of thing we all fear will happen. It actually pursues me several timrs a day (every day) as my brain crafts posts whilst I carry out mindless chores... It's only afterwards that I ealise that my words are lost for good through my hands being otherwise engaged.

"I woke up," gave me a good chuckle. You did an excellent job writing a complete story in seventy-five words, based on a dream. Wish I could dream up stories. Great work. Best wishes in the contest.

What is a Gaggle of Geese? Well, a gaggle of geese means more than two geese showing the same behavior. The term gaggle is also used for the group of noisy people, and it can also be applied to some other animals' groups. Gaggle is a collective noun for geese, but this is not the only noun that refers to the group of geese. per Internet.

Okay, I'm recognizing the Hand-of-Terry, here. Am I right? I love it and I'm betting it will do well! I just checked out the contest rules and they seem vague enough to allow anyone to post whatever might be on their minds. So meets all guidelines. Whomever it may belong to, it's got my vote!

One of the reasons this entry will do so well is that it is original -without being truly original because every writer has experienced a similar situation and can relate. It is funny --- made me smile. It is creative in the use a 'gaggle' of geese and the indirect reference to their constant chatter among themselves -- much as our story ideas float around in our brains.

So, good luck to whomever you may be! ann
