We humans, are usually impressed by large things; big buildings, big cars, big ideas. When some hear that Jesus, who was executed for his beliefs, among other things, says that he will return to the earth in full glory to execute judgement against a wicked world, many do not believe, thinking it is too large a task. For the one who conquered the world, no task, no feat is too large. Your posting is masterful, instructive, faith inducing, and a wonderful pathway to a belief that can and will save lives.

There is so much wisdom in your words shown in this poem. I often read, and hear, people who have gone through so much pain and loss by the hands of their fellow man, turn around and say they forgive them. I would ask myself 'would I?' I really don't know, Roy. If someone hurt my child, I honestly don't think I could. I think I'd go by God's goodness to guide me.
I read Judi's poem, and will go and get the book. You're right, she is an amazing poet and prose writer. Your poem gave me much to think about, mostly about my choices and decisions. Well done, my friend. Love and hugs, Sandra xx

Hello Roy,
In the light of Author Note, it's a nice piece of poetry having impressive phraseology, smooth flow throughout from the beginning to the end with lovely rhyming scheme, and beautifully depicting the power of forgiveness.
The last stanza is particularly noteworthy.

Jesus replied, " seventy-seven times. And if he ask for your singlet, give him your coat also." We are only human and as such find war abhorrent. Can we find it in our hearts to turn the other cheek? "Vengeance is mine, saithe the Lord."

These aabb quatrains remind us that we have to search for the truth in order to save ourselves and others. Judging and grudges only foster and prolong hate. We need to pray for a person's change of heart to make a change in a positive direction.

But as a general rule you have a very valid point.It is difficult to judge people and situations because what we know as truth may not be truth at all...

Excellent thoughts. Nobody knows the full truth, except for God, and God will judge. Our group has been praying for not only the Ukraine but for the Russian soldiers and also for Putin. It is good to note that the Bible Society, while also distributing food supplies, has been inundated with requests for Bibles from Ukrainians. There are more people that God is drawing into His kingdom, and this often comes through persecution, hard as it is to take. May His will be done, and may many from Russia likewise be drawn into God's kingdom through these desperate times.

Excellent thoughts. Nobody knows the full truth, except for God, and God will judge. Our group has been praying for not only the Ukraine but for the Russian soldiers and also for Putin. There are more people that God is drawing into His kingdom, and this often comes through persecution, hard as it is to take. Thanks Karen, I have cleaned up the notes, and tidied up the poem, I?m going to present this at our church?s prayer meeting this week, I think if we change tack from anger to plead forgiveness, perhaps grace may have a chance, I have never spoken a word in anger about Putin, not because I?m good, but because I felt uncomfortable about joining the chorus..I think God?s voice and heart is in this.
