This is a well crafted poem. Your opening stanza is so true with many of us. But by God's grace our differences can help us be balance. Your poem flows well throughout. Very nice poem.

I can't thank you enough for your kind review & encouraging words for my poem. We have lost many of our friends, which have have left their wives widowed; one who had a spat that morning & before they made up, he had a massive heart attack. She lives with this pain daily & has yet to forgive herself. I guess that's a very big reason for trying to get this message out there. I know one of us will someday have to face the reality of losing the other. So I never hold onto foolish pride & let anytime go between an argument & forgiveness, it just isn't worth it! Sorry for going on & on.......
Thank you again & God Bless!

No problem. I do understand, and you are welcome.

People do anything for love and that is just what you and your husband
Glen have been doing. When we truly love someone we accept that person for who he or she is, including his/her positive and negative attributes and his or her shortcomings. Good luck in the contest.

You two look so familiar to me but the name escapes me now. My eyesight is in decline so keep that in mind. Love your sweet poem of devotion. How refreshing in this world.
Blessings to you both. ;) :)
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the upcoming contest,
Sally :))

Excellent entry for the Love writing prompt contest. The theme is compelling and engaging.
Your poem story is very romantic, even more because it's true. I'm sure your husband loves it.
Good luck in the contest.

This is a lovely tribute to your marriage and to both of you for making it work despite your differences. Very well done, although you could remove the 4 commas dividing lines for no apparent reason. Best of luck in the contest.

I like it very much and would swear my wife of 40 years wrote it about us. It's a great tribute to love and the power of friendship. Congrats on your entry and on fifty years together. What an achievement!
Cheers,
John

You are so sweet Janet! Thank you for you kind review and encouraging words! Lol, we have finally compromised, as we both have fond memories of Gunsmoke and Lone Ranger. However, they are both Westerns, so I think he got the better deal! I guess I don't mind, as I do have a tv in the bedroom.
My heart is just so full & thankful that neither of us have to face the evening with one of our chairs empty! Thanks again Janet & God Bless!
