It has potential. First thing, "going like a mourning dove" -- did you mean mourning? As in grieving a loss? Or morning, like the start of the day?
This poem is a bit long, and it seems unnecessary as it doesn't really go anywhere. The cadence is off as well. The rhymes are nice, but the words don't flow well together.
Again though, it does have potential. Keep at it!
