This is a lovely free verse poem for this last line challenge. Though talking of death you write with a peaceful mind and leave the reader feeling the same. Lovely read. Cheers

Thank you, Pearl. :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. Death, to me, is just another phase of what we are. If nothing else we will sleep peacefully without the worries of the world.

This is very beautiful what you have penned for the club entry "Last Words). You used very good heartfelt words and I like where you got it from - The declaration of Independence. Best wishes in the contest. Teri

This is beautifully penned and illustrated poem for the last words prompt. The thing I love most about writing is the lasting impression and piece of me left behind. Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the challenge,
Sal XO

You put your soul into this poem. Caressing words of comfort, yet powerful enough to feel safe, using great imagery. You have one line that gave me the chills; THE ONE THAT CARESSES YOUR HAIR! Well I tell ya, I have felt that, fingers running through my hair, 2 times now. both times I was very upset, crying hard. I didn't think that that happened to others, thought it was my imagination. Your loved ones are lucky and fortunate to know this.

Thank you, Lulube. :) Don't be worried if fingers caress your hair. Someone loves you. Be afraid if hands start pulling you down. :) Thank you for the stars.

This is a beautifully written free verse. My last words as they pass by are engraved in a song from an old book the
Life, Sayings, and Words of Jesus. The book is coming apart from age.
Yet, they are part of my heart,
forMy soul feels heavenly bound."As I hear, the angels sing, coming for to carry me home."very good entry for the club entry last words.

I enjoyed reading your poem. The topic is relatable to most, I would think and your sentiment is heartfelt. Do you write different notes styles of poetry or do you prefer free verse?

The picture was beautiful-an apple with a maple tree leaf, Jose. I loved your poem it was definitely a free versers. If I recall Thomas Jefferson as a writer of the Declaration of Independence proclaimed the close sentiments to this.

Thank you, Alie. :) I have a book by Thomas Jefferson but haven't read it. The book, Life, Sayings, and Words of Jesus is another that I've read a little off. It's old wrapped in wheat paper. I'm glad you like it.

Great job on this, Jose. Your points and the way that you portrayed them was very good and answered the prompt beautifully. I enjoyed reading your Freeverse.

I hope you're not planning to leave anytime soon? A fine last farewell for when the time comes, this is something I have never though to of writing, but I enjoyed your words here, love Dolly x

Thank you, Dolly. :) I am kind of crazy and thought I would be canceled from FanStory. I was saying goodbye to all my friends. But I'm still here so you'll have to put up with me for a while longer.
