It's very motivating for a writer to have children and grandchildren who will receive a legacy of their loved one's thoughts and feelings. It keeps the memories alive. I enjoyed your writing.

This was an excellent writing on why you write. I have often thought it would be selfish to keep all of these things inside when they could live on through writing. Good luck in leaving this legacy to your family and friends.

This is quite interesting and amusing at times. You have some lovely birds I must say. A legacy of birds is a good thing when everyone needs some prods to add to their knowledge.

Nice poem.
Not being a poet (and no doubt unqualified to review poetry), I don't understand why there are only two lines in the fourth stanza.
Also, isn't it pushing the concept of rhyming to resort to a foreign language? Sort of like 'forcing' a rhyme? I could understand if it was a universally accepted: banzai!, via con dios, or auf wiedersehen. But who knows 'daran'?

Thank you, the choice of introducing the the use of Germanic as a near rhythmed stanza was grabbing for straws. The couplet was to create a break before the grand finale.

This is a well written poem. The poem flows well. Your message is clear. I liked the consistent rhyming scheme throughout the poem. Leaving a legacy for your children is excellent. I enjoyed reading this poem.
