This David doesn't sound like a nice guy. I had to laugh as the modern-day term 'serial killer' was attached to his description by one scholar. I didn't know that the story of Goliath was someone's creation, but it had to be. I mean, who could a giant with a sling shot. A parable like a lot of the Bible stories? Do those who study to be a minister or priest study the history of the Holy Land?

There are some things in the Bible that I just don't understand. For a book of peace and love, it sure has a lot of violence in it. All the killings and adultery throughout make me wonder sometimes. It is what it is and you have done a great job with this essay on David.

I wish I had a six for you. They just don't give us enough of them. You did a great job as usual, and I enjoyed the read. I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, and it teaches us lessons whether true or not. First and foremost, David was a fallible man, and it doesn't matter to me if the stories are true.
