This David doesn't sound like a nice guy. I had to laugh as the modern-day term 'serial killer' was attached to his description by one scholar. I didn't know that the story of Goliath was someone's creation, but it had to be. I mean, who could a giant with a sling shot. A parable like a lot of the Bible stories? Do those who study to be a minister or priest study the history of the Holy Land?

Hi Brett, I am so impressed with all the research you've put in to this. I've never heard of David in this light before. what an interesting analysis. Now I'm eager to hear the other side of it. Ulla:)))

I knew David had some faults, but I never thought of him as bad or evil. I can't wait for more information. You have done your research. Thank you for sharing that with us.

Different views in different times seem to be the normal for about everything. But as we learn more, many times our new views are nearly opposite the previous. Thanks for sharing.

There are some things in the Bible that I just don't understand. For a book of peace and love, it sure has a lot of violence in it. All the killings and adultery throughout make me wonder sometimes. It is what it is and you have done a great job with this essay on David.

I wish I had a six for you. They just don't give us enough of them. You did a great job as usual, and I enjoyed the read. I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, and it teaches us lessons whether true or not. First and foremost, David was a fallible man, and it doesn't matter to me if the stories are true. He's a great teaching tool on what not to do, and no matter what, God is God. Have a wonderful day. Shirley
