Although we currently don't own a dog or a cat at the moment, over the years we have owned 12 cats and 4 dogs, all loved, all unique, all remembered, 142 ibs is a big dog, at one stage we had 5 cats and a dog sleeping with us, beautifully written, enjoyed your post, blessings Roy

I love your poem. I'm curious to know how old Lillian is. My lab Sienna, is 9 and is my support animal. She's with me all the time, truly my best friend. Did you find her at a shelter? Or a Breeder? What breed is she?

Lillian is my support animal also! She is an English Mastiff and I got her from a rescue. She is with me all the time too. She?s my big baby. She?s 7 now. Thanks so much for the excellent review!

This is a great imagery, with a personified metaphor: "and my heart squeezes. " Now, you've got the reader drawn in wondering why you say such a thing: "But yours will be shorter than mine." The melancholy for the reader is lifted. Well done.
