Well thought out. Your poem points to the lies of the enemy wrapped in the blanket of deception. It flows nicely - thank you for this poem. You did a great job.

Ciao !
You wrote a story that flows ..you added some satire towards the end.
I read that you were a diplomat for some odd 30 years .. what do you think about this mess?
I condemn Putin for starting a war but I do believe that America has heavy responsibility too.
The NATO for more than 70 years has been stretching its boundaries toward Russia.
18 new members have joined the NATO since 1952:
Turkey (1952), Germany (1955),
Spain (1982), the Czech Republic,
Hungary and Poland (1999), Bulgaria,
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania,
Slovakia and Slovenia (2004), Albania
and Croatia (2009), Montenegro
(2017) and North Macedonia (2020).
I can see why Putin was not happy and feared the unhealthy influence from us Westerners.
In 2019 Zelensky, who is clearly anti Russia, became President thanks to help from powerful friends, ( USA ?) this only made Putin more determined to bring back Ukraine to its roots.
Here Zelensky 7 years ago mocking Russia .. His dance is provocative.
What do you think ?
Zelensky is also trying to pull Europe into a war by pleading to Western nations to send NATO soldiers and not just arms.
PS: I read that the south of Korea is on fire and the blazing is very near a nuclear installation.. are you close by?

The fire is quite some distance away from me. Thanks for asking. I think that Putin is determined to rebuild Russia as it was in the old Soviet Era and will not be content with Ukraine, but I fear that the Baltic states are next. Quite a mess

Ciao!
I?m glad the fire is not close by , hopefully they were able to snuff it out .. looks like the wind made the situation worse.
Thank you for replying to my question.
Let ?s hope peace talks prevail.

It's actually "the Russian army" so you'll have to use Russia somewhere else in the poem. A lovely challenge which has brought out the peacekeeper in you.
We only wish they come in peace, since we hear about this army on the news every evening. I wouldn't like to be in those Ukranians' shoes right now!

I see. This is a writing competition. I was thrown off in the beginning. It's too bad that Ukrainians can't be bought out. They are brave people.
Well done and good luck.
