This is a beautiful and romantic poem about a small amethyst stone who was talking to you as a metaphor of a lost lover. I love your using all the words like "Caress" and "possess" that boldly imply love that lift us from the mundane sea.
Exceptionally done.

Thank you, Jasmine Girl,
Each of us is as insignificant as sea glass, battered and weathered by the sea, which turns us from broken glass to unexpected treasure.
Love is always just there, a footstep away!
Thanks for the six stars!

Karenina, this poem is as beautiful as the sea glass is. Your poem is very sensual, and the descriptions are perfect. I wish I had a six left, but I do not. I only hope a lot of other people do. This poem deserves many sixes.

That was a lovely poem, Karenina, and quite romantic, listening into the voice of a piece of sea-glass. I've got one of those in the exact same colour! You've captured such lovely visuals, and brought the pretty sea-glass-rock to life to create a beautiful poem here, (as you always do) and it was such a pleasure to read. Well done, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra, and happy Friday to you! I have crystal decanters full of sea glass which I've picked up over decades. Only a precious few amethyst-hued treasures. I'm thrilled you enjoyed the poem!

O my heart flutters, skips a beat, rejoices with your words this lovely morning. What a wonderful love poem. The unbelievable crossing of destinies. And, of course, for my heart of the Island, so utterly recognizable, the beach glass, the rare chance of finding this magic glass gem, "Had you turned to gaze out to sea/I would not have known/the beauty of your touch." O my.... A wonderful love poem. "...miraculously in your path!...." This poem is special. Thank you for finding the feeling and the words and putting them on paper....

Six stars from you Richard! This one has been laboriously coming together for some time. I hope it allowed wonderful Nantucket memories to rise to the surface. I have decanters of sea glass I've amassed over the years... Precious few of amethyst hue! Ah, but love is worth searching for...it is worth it all. Thank you so much!-- Karenina

Karen,
How sweet! I have heard about sea glass all my life - and I can only imagine that finding some might feel something like this - more than fortuitous. Something akin to fate - just like the right person. *smile* I love it! This was so lovely!!!

It might be the right person, it might be the discovery of the improbable love of our Creator... Either way, I've searched for sea glass for decades and halve sparkling reminders of these improbable gifts upon shelves throughout my home. Not a lot of amethyst-hued pieces out there! What greater inspiration than the "sea" of improbabilities! Thanks for your lovely comments,
Karenina

This was beautiful. Of all the things that could have happened, things aligned for these two to belong to each other. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work.

Thanks! Indeed, we may search all of our lives...and find the treasure of love in as random a way as sea glass washed upon the shore!
Thank you!

Good morning, Karenina!
Beautifully rendered.
Such lovely visual and emotive images resonate deeply with me, and I am certain will resonate with other readers as well...
Incredibly romantic and sensual:
"Possess me.
Slip me in your pocket...
So I may rest
with glorious abandon,
made precious by your touch."
Thank you for sharing!

Good morning, Diane!
I've searched for sea glass since I was a child--I have decanters of bits and pieces throughout my home, to remind me that God guides us to just the treasures we need in our lives ~ regardless of improbability! So thrilled you enjoyed this one!

Karenina,
I knew I was saving a six for something very special. This poem is incredible; so many apt metaphors, within a simile, for two people who meet by chance and find love, value and beauty in each other, no matter how turbulent their pasts. This should be published.

Karenina,
This poem works well to describe the quote in the notes. It can also be a metaphor for find the right person and how gentleness brings people together.

Thank you. Be it a single love, or the love of the Creator-- Isn't it just like life to wash amethyst joy into our lives when we least expect it?

Comment from Begin Again
Once something precious such as a vase, broken and discarded as worthless but touched by God's hand in nature, caressed by the sea, and placed at your feet to be discovered, nurtured and made precious in your heart and mind once again.
As we stumbled through life with a low expectation of who or what we are, we can become something exalted by love in God's eyes and ours if we open out hearts to see.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing, sweet friend.
Hugs, Carol

Yes, Carol. Thank you! I've collected bits of sea glass all of my life.
The thought of man's detritus being weathered and washed in the sea, emerging as something as precious as sea glass has always spoken to me of the endless hope of improbable joy! I'm so elated you saw this metaphor as it was intended! Thank you so much,
Karenina
