Hello Karenina,
Not a diamond, ruby or a pearl, just a simple piece of beauty
that tumbled to the shore,
much as we each tumble through life.
If Maggie had seen it,
she'd have left her singing shell,
Millie, her pointy star,
Mollie, her scary jellyfish,
and May her smooth round stone.
Each would have marveled over your amethyst sea glass
for "beauty is a joy forever."
As is poetry.
Best wishes.

Karenina,
Your poem is seductive and warm, like the gem on the shore of which you speak.
Strong word choice, as I could actually feel the "warmth" of the sun you speak of.
Excellent poem.
Good luck with all your writing.

A thing of beauty comes into your life when you least expect it, like an object, a person, love, or the awakening understanding of a simple Bible verse. There is so much meaning in your poetry. It's always thought-provoking. I enjoyed the moments of daydreaming this poem elicited.

Thank you for these amazing six-stars...
More importantly, by far, thank you for sensing the underpinning here...
That God guides our path.
That love will find us as much as we find it!
I carry a piece of amethyst sea glass with me always.
A reminder of the blessed arc of improbability!
All my best!

Constantly tossed and turned by the breakers, sea glass is a end result of extreme trials.here I feel there is a metaphor in play .It could be a person finally finding his/her one safe haven of love ..beautiful..

I was. For sure. Beaten and battered and abraded along the ocean's brutal bottom. Amazing grace! I have been swept ashore in the path of a loving soul! All things are possible--we can cross the arc of improbability and emerge joyously! Speaking of joy, thanks for the shiny six!
Hugs, Karenina

I love the symbol of sea glass in this poem. Mysterious, shaped and polished by the ocean into a thing of beauty. Just so is love, a mysterious, unpredictable force drawn into being from a sea of passion.
I enjoyed this very much, Karenina.
Stay safe and blessed

I'm so pleased it connected with you. Sea glass is beautiful...
A man tosses it out, the ocean creates beauty!
Thanks!

This is a beautifully written poem. Your words create pictures so vivid that I felt I was there watching. If we can love objects, maybe they can love back.

I've never held sea glass in my hand without feeling the energy of something being made new by God and nature. Love finds us just when we stop looking!
Thanks so much,

I never thought of it as being repurposed before. Beautiful way of looking at it.

This is a beautifully written poem. Sea glass is such a treasure. Moulded into unique shapes by the rough waters and currents. Very beautiful photo to compliment your words. Nicely done.

Thanks! I see it that way too! If not for the abrasion on the sea's bottom, the constant battering upon the shore, it would be mere bits of shattered bottles tossed out to sea by man. Instead it is transformed to something beautiful!--Karenina

This is a gem and deserves a six, which unfortunately I am out of. The reference to the sea glass suggests the narrator's fragility. I like your suggestion that just the slightest move on his part, and they might have missed one another. It's as if fate drew them together. This is beautifully worded. judi

It is an arc of improbability, isn't it? This thing called love. I collect sea glass; I have decanters full of it around my home. Thanks for reading and no worries about the six...I never have any left by Friday!

This lovely, moving poem glows with vivid descriptive details. Personifying the "sea glass," giving it a strong personality, conveys a powerful message
about the precious offerings of the sea and those who treasure them.
