Powerful imagery. I wonder why you often write in small letters - I understand, it's your style, but I still find it a little distracting.

It sometimes takes so long to squeeze these wretched words out of the muse that you'd dashed well hope they'd be ageless. However, should they prove only to be transitory, I hope they at least earn you some funny money in the contest.
