Congratulation on the Win for Memories. What a great memory you have in this lovely lady.
I have friends who would fit this example. They just love gardening and creating a rainbow with the glories colors of flowers.
Very nicely done.

There is a sense that your wife was a happy person, especially in a garden. The repeating line "And you smiled" gives the poem a feel for joy, a good feeling in today's world. Excellent use of words.

This straightforward poem documents in words the story of an individual who always smiled, regardless of the satisfactions or trials of times spent in different activities. "And She Smiled" builds a larger appreciation of the good will and optimism that were so elementarily part of the woman described. It is in the examples of this admired character's behavior that this poem derives its main strength: whatever work she undertook, she was able to find her smile.

In my opinion, this described memory in free verse is captured gently, with affection and admiration - easy in flow and movement. Best wishes in the contest with this loving tribute...

This is a beautiful tribune to your wife. It tells much about her in a few words and a simple style of poem. Your feelings about her come through strong. Good luck with the contest.

what a lovely commentary on your wife,
and a grand picture of her, smiling.
Surely the sign of a contented person who inspired a happy poem and memory.
I love the way you formatted your poem.(and the fact that you wrote it)

What a sweet poem to accompany a wonderful photograph. I am guessing that you took the photo, for there is love in her eyes and her smile. What better way to live life than with a smile at every turn!

Thank you very much for your kind review. The photograph was actually taken by the lady whose garden she worked in that day.
