A delightful poem, fun to read. Congratulations on your first place win and welcome back to the family. Have a pleasant week. Apparently I am short characters for this review. Here's some more.

A touch of malarkey in old Sparky here, excellent metre and rhyme and a cute story to boot, a well written, humorous Limerick, and you won my vote, love Dolly x

This limerick, What a Nuisance, has the general formatting, and finds the neighbor's cat has had it up to here with that springy, goofy, barky-de-bark dog.

and the advantage of being able to climb trees and look down on him

I've always liked "malarkey" as a word, and I also know how annoyingly irritating barky Jack Russell's can be. I'm not at all surprised the neighbourhood cat got snarky about it. I enjoyed how you combined this animal interaction into a clever limerick.

thanks, Lisa. I started to put a picture of the Jack Russell, but then I thought a snarky cat would be more fun.
I appreciate your comments.

Very nicely written limerick. Not only did you choose a fitting photo, but your limerick just as it was intended to. You didn't miss a beat. Your limerick was short and sweet and fun to read.

Thank you for your very kind words and for the 6! Both, much appreciated.

Your limerick is excellent in every respect--skillfully written, amusing, and entertaining. You've done a good job capturing the personalities of the pesky dog and the scolding cat.

Nice Limerick for the competition. The poor Jack Russell. I hope he wasn't to traumatized. Good luck in the competition. I hope you do well.
Thanks for sharing.

thanks, Gee.
I don't think Jack Russells traumatize easily. If at all. My daughter had one and there wasn't an insecure bone in his body.
Thanks for the good wishes!

Writing a Limerick is not the easiest task and especially one that has a large helping of humor - but this Limerick succeeds on both those counts -'malarkey' is just a great word !!

You know, I feel sure (pretty sure) I answered this and thanked you very much for your neat comments and the lovely 6. BUT, it's still lit up that I have two reviews, so I will graciously thank you again and see if it goes away.

This is an excellent limerick for the contest
with very good meter and rhymes
and a theme that fanstory cat lovers will relate to.
(and dog lovers also)
Great picture to match.
Good luck in the contest.

Thanks, Robert. I tried for a picture of a Jack Russell at odds with a cat, to no avail, so decided on the miffed cat.
By the way, I was looking at your bio picture, trying to see if it was a falcon, so I copied it to word, and yes, indeed it is. Does it stand for a bird you admire or do you identify, or both? or neither? :)
