Tired of reading entries about Trump.
Miss Liberty is having a tough time .. she stands for hope, freedom and justice but in America today all three lack.
Last week in my country our government was supposed to elect our new president ( every seven years) and it had the guts to re-elect the same one just to save their seats.
A year ago when our government fell , instead to let the country go to vote , the President put a banker at the head of our country.
The same banker who destroyed Greece in 2009 with new norms and demands to pay back its debt.
He didn't care about the sufferings of the people and now he is doing the same in his own country.
He is using the pandemic against the people.
From the 1st of Feb. those in their 50s must be vaccinated now or they can't go to work or collect their pensions.
They can only buy essential products at the supermarket like pasta , rice , milk.. no wine , no beer etc
It's blackmail .. these vaccines are sperimentale and wane already after 3 months.
So now people will be forced to take every three month a booster .. imagine what that will do to our natural immunity system.
When there is no justice, freedom or hope, that s the beginning of the end for a nation.

Like many of us, Lady Liberty appears ready for the hot, vaxxed, likely unmasked, and back-to-more-or-less-normal New York City summer. Her statue is arm resting while lying on the ground relaxing with no mask on.

Now this is a great political poem for the prompt. It's nuanced and layered in its meaning and doesn't hit the reader bluntly over the head with its meaning. This is really well done as political commentary. Would be a great piece of political commentary in a newspaper or magazine.

This political 5-7-5, Lady Liberty, has the right setup and alludes to masking and the debate over the viruses, I guess. The image is Lady Justice with the scales though.
