The graphic twist was a shocker; I doubt that I will ever get the image of a Sicilian necktie out of my mind. Your story shows that it pays to be one step ahead of something that sounds too good to be true.

But most all that you understood my intentions with the heartbreak, ensuing bitterness, sexual anticipation for a lonely old man, the woman's devious trickery, and his had enough retaliation. If it sounds good to my ear, I just write it. I read my first book at 37 and didn't read my second until I was 47, and I make more mistakes than anyone. But thanks to kind people who wouldn't let me give up and have kept pointing out my mistakes, I'm making less all the time. LOL. I've only submitted three things in my life, and as luck would have it, two have been published. I was as shocked as anyone. I can't thank you enough for your encouraging and motivating review. It's reviews like yours that keeps this old hack scratching to get better. I appreciate YOU!

But I wanted to soften the image to a lonesome and broken hearted man, who wasn't simply a sleaze in a bar, but who after another abuse, is driven to become a monster. Do you send your stories to magazines? Have you ever been published or do you just write on this site?

I don't send anything to magazines. I've only submitted three times ever, and two of the three were published. I did have a deal to publish two different books. But by the time they made all the requested changes on the first one, it didn't even recognize what I had written. So, I refused to have it published with my name on it. Then, like a mad little kid, I took my books and went home. They called back five or six times, but I wasn't interested in dealing with them anymore. I don't write much. I'm supposed to meet with some people in New York in March about a possible deal. But I'm pretty stuck in my ways, and if they want too many changes, there won't be a deal. LOL. Yes, I'm a little nuts maybe. I was offered two recording contracts in the music business in my teens, but I told them too to take a hike. I thought they were taking advantage of me. As it turned out, both deals were pretty standard. And I probably shouldn't have turned them down. I just always thought someone else would come with offers. It never happened. LOL. Sorry about the novella. You just took the time to ask, and I wanted to answer you as openly as I could.

The actions and dialogue between the two characters keep the story moving at a high rate of speed. There is no lag or drag as the story moves to the end.
The resolution is a big surprise, and you lead the reader to it with eyes wide open until you slam them shut at the end. You keep it moving all the way home. The finish is a big shock, and you follow it with the postscript that finishes the story. Great Job!
