I read somewhere that the Jews and Muslims are left-brain people. That is why they write and read from left to right. While the greeks are mostly right-brain, we follow their tradition to write and read from right to left. Whatever the case, I agree with you that it takes the whole brain to have faith. Thanks for sharing and all the very best in the contest, Kit.

Thank you.
I didn't know that about brain side dominance being a cultural, or ethnic, phenomenon.

You can read the book, The Great Partnership - Science, Religion, and the Search for Meaning by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks.

Well, given that these are just your wonderings, and there is nothing wrong with that, I do it all the time, I would recommend changing this to commentary/philosophy instead of essay. An essay is a higher degree of scholarly paper, not quite a research paper, but more than musings. As such they require citations.
When this begins, the reader doesn't know where you are getting your scientific information about the brain. What are you references?
It is not until the very last words in the notes that we see these are just your wonderings.

What a remarkably informative piece of writing. You may be neither scientist nor theologian, but you are certainly an astute cognitive thinker. You present your information with authority and clarity, making it not just informative but also thoroughly enjoyable to read. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you.
I just have too much time on my hands, what with freezing temps outside.

I've never given this subject much thought so I found your write very interesting and it seems you know quite a bit about brain function. I have tried to train my left hand over time, but it is never as efficient as my right. I have used my left hand more in an effort to equalise dexterity, not sure I have succeeded but I have experimented on myself. You then turn to faith as a contrast between science and faith and I think this is where the balance is really important, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
