I love the little chat between Amy and her grandmother, especially the way you distinguished the dialogue for each character. Just one suggestion: "Love you too, Papa, and all the (omit 'other') angels...." My reason is that angels are created beings, as are humans, but humans don't become angels when they die. We will still be people in heaven. God's angels still watch over us, and I like Grandma's description of heaven. Blessings. Carol

I based the story on a talk I had with my little granddaughter a long time ago when my daughter passed. She wanted to know where Wendy was at and why she couldn't talk to her anymore. I gave her a star and an angel because she was too small to understand anything else. Glad you enjoyed the story.

Didn't mean to be picky about the angels. I've heard many adults say that recently.

I love your story. Must be hard to write in this manner, certainly you could not use spell check or Word editor to fine-tune your writing. Very well done, and a reminder that Heaven awaits us.

Isn't that night. My precious grandchildren are safely locked away in the heart of the Lord, purely because they are what Heaven is made of, innocence and trust, and a God who dances over them with singing, as he does you. Carol, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for sharing this beautiful story with us.

Any spun around to look wide-eyed at her Grandmother. & Any scowled and stared at the porch floor. (AMY????)

This story was a wonderful read. Your spirituality shows through. In section thirteen you wrote Any instead of Amy. I am hardly waiting for the next book chapter.

What a moving story about a child and her grandma. You did a good job describing the child's voice and her questions. Grandma did a great job answering them by giving a glorious description of Heaven.

Well done.

Beautiful thought :
"I don't believe so, Amy. I like to think of them as shootin' stars with a mission. An angel returnin' to carry someone home."

So much of the spirituality on FS is trite and has no depth. You have presented the wonder of God and nature within a wonderful dialogue that gives it a context and depth. Very well done.

This is a sweet story. Children of that age are so innocent and loving. If they have a grandmother to love them and tell them stories, the are lucky children. I can still remember chats I had my grandmothers. My own granddaughters always wanted to play tea party or school when they were with me. My grandson liked to help me make cookies. I enjoyed the story, Carol.

I have to confess to you that I'm not at all religious, but I do find your stories to be so beautiful to read. Perhaps because they are as filled with human kindness as they are with spiritual belief. Beautiful, beautiful writing. Thank you so much for sharing.

This was quite an enjoyable read! I enjoyed the story and I could easily picture a little girl sitting with her grandmother as you described it. Gram's description of heaven sounds wonderful and any six year old would be excited about it.

I did see one small typo:

"Any(Amy) spun around to look wide-eyed at her grandmother."--Any instead of Amy.

I particularly enjoyed the last line: "As they entered the house, they both stopped, looked toward Heaven, and whispered, "Good night, Lord."--This gave me a picture in my mind of how much Gram cared for Amy, and was teaching her as best she knew how.
Thank you for sharing!
