The instructions to this contest encourage a creative approach. And this entry, the first part of which is effectively a free verse poem is certainly that.
I do wonder whether this complies with the given title of the contest 'The Best Day Ever' since it deals more with a decade than a single day. I am grading it a five for its impact as a piece of writing but would not vote for it in the contest for the reason given.

I can see your point whereas I wrote it envisioning one day in many
and how my friends and I anticipated the door opening as Heinz ketchup to a burger
