What an absolutely beautiful and fascinating story. The bit about the tiger cubs is fine, but it's the whole meeting via the cat on the balcony that is priceless. I assume Zoe was a fan of Breakfast at Tiffany's? Meeting the tiger cubs may have been the best day of HER life, but I'll wager that the day by the balcony was the best day of yours! Thank you so much for sharing.

Wow! What a unique experience...to be able to hold and pet tiger cubs. I loved the introductory story about Holly on the balcony, and how she brought you and your wife together, but a private meeting with tiger cubs is an experience to cherish. A good story, and a perfect entry for this contest. However, I will have to admit I enjoyed the back story even more than the "Best Day Ever" part. To me, meeting the love of your life by way of a stranded cat is much more exciting than getting to hold a tiger cub, but perhaps you and Zoe would see it differently. This is not a criticism... just a comment. I thought your story was superb and I do hope it wins an award in this contest. So well written in every way... and fun to read. MM

This is a really sweet story about what someone else thought was the best day of her life. I suspect yours is the day you married. My husband would say we never ran out of kids, but cats are good.

I thoroughly enjoyed this little read! You did an excellent job of justifying the backstory which would have seemed excessive had you not done it in a clever way and explained why it was important.
My favorite lines are below:
