Makes me think about my childhood days. We had apple trees. Tons of seeds.
What?" Danny said, (asked) blowing a seed.
Well told...Good luck in the contest

Good for Danny, he won fair and square! Celeste may have shown him up in front of her friends but he knew that he had won in the game of life! This children's watermelon tale shows pride in its most important element. The other pride entries I read only scratched on the surface of what it means to have pride in your accomplishments.
Thanks for showing what pride is all about.
Have a wonderful week!
Jesse

Excellent entry for the Pride contest. You named the most important thing to be proud of oneself. Cute watermelon story. Great samples. I like the presentation. Well done my friend. Good luck in the contest.

Nice little story. Danny just couldn't perform under pressure. Sometimes we all do better when no one is looking. Some of us, me included, just have to be satisfied with our accomplishments, even though they go unwitnessed.

What a very enjoyable tale. I'm prepared to wager that Danny will have a brighter future than Celeste, based on his attitude.
She wallows in the victory of the moment, while he is perhaps more long-sighted, and has the self-belief to know he can do better. I like that he doesn't feel the need to prove himself. Thanks for sharing this.

Hi there,

This is a nice piece for the competition. Well written and engaging write. Couple of missing bits-

"B+. Missed two. - need closing speech marks here.

two pieces, one yellow one blue. - may need punctuation or conjunctive after yellow.

It matches my dress." - need opening speech marks here.

"That's not fair, Celeste whined. - need closing speech marks here.

Both of them went further than Celeste's - farther.

All the best GMG
