Ciao !

There are three scents I love most and one is definitely freshly cut grass.

I usually cut my handkerchief lawn in the wee hours of morn or late at night after the sun is gone down.

The scent is beautiful , so refreshing , it just makes me feel good.

Also green is my all time favourite colour.

What can I say : good thing we can't hear the sound frequency grass emits its cries.( biggrin)

The sweet smell of fresh-cut grass brings a vision of a well-kept manicured lawn. It makes the whole property look fresh and clean. It also gives me an asthma attack! LOL Good luck with the contest.

Freshly cut grass makes me sneeze. I must admit I enjoy the scent anyway. So I can relate to your poem. I don't know what else to say, except I enjoyed reading it, and good luck in the contest.

Excellent entry for the I Love... writing prompt contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines. Nice presentation and imagery. You like the smell of cut grass...I know what you mean.

Well done. Good luck in the contest.

That lawn looks as though it could be a football field. Some people find mowing a lawn therapeutic. As for me, while I love the smell of newly cut grass. . .it makes my allergies go crazy. Best of luck with this piece. :)

The cry of distress can be personification for the lawn or the feeling of the person who has to mow the lawn again. The smell of freshly mown grass is as postitive an effect as the neat look of the lawn.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.

I love this description of the poem:
It is said that the smell of freshly cut grass is the lawn's cry out for help after getting a haircut.

I think everyone has some memory connected to the fresh smell of a newly cut lawn. Good job.

This is an excellent 5-7-5 poem for the contest
with a nice theme.
There must be a lot of crying in the spring and summertime
when the movers are out in droves.
Excellent picture to match.
Well done, just like the lawn.
Good luck.

I too love the smell of fresh-cut grass and the look of a nicely mown lawn... it's a bit sad it evokes a cry of distress though. (I reckon the guy in the photo needs a ride-on mower for that expanse.)
