Very nicely written with good character development. It was interesting to watch a relationship develop between Cord and Ali. The dog was a nice touch, too. Good luck in the contest.
I don't know if it was purposeful, but there's a bit of head-hopping at the end of the first scene.

Another very promising start to romance and broken hearts. Of course, it's obvious that the two will make sparks fly, but Cord may be a problem...his kind usually are. And Samson has already stolen my heart.

So already I think Cordero is definitely attracted to her, she, who has been betrayed by another man, you've got a a four legged companion in Samson the Newfoundland dog, beautifully written Barbara, well done, great write, blessings Roy

I love dogs, they are important to the story, they are good companions.
