THis is very nicely done for the EMotions Contest. You are so very conversational in this and I am glad you have overcome the pain of shyness! I put up this big front of being a strong, inclusive personality, but a test once told me that behind it all, I am painfully shy. And I do dread social event type things! Crippling shyness, I have seen in students in the past. Keep overcoming. YOu are strong and you are able to write about it so others know they are NOT alone with this. Great Job!

I was always shy, so I can relate. I'm glad you overcame your shyness. Your poem read smooth, I think, relatable for most and a found a pleasure to read. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

First let me say that I'm proud of you for working through all of that shyness. Your poem has rhyme and rhythm, which I totally love. The descriptive words do let the reader know how painful this time was for you and how it still affects you to this day. Keep up the good work!

I found your sweet story endearing and I am glad you have found your voice and you are no longer shy. Often shy people are bullied by others and are left out of conversations. A poignant write, love Dolly x

Your poem is very descriptive and moving--relating how you struggled with shyness until, at last, you "found your voice." You've also addressed a really ugly trait some have; they like to pick on shy people!

A very well written entry for the contest, and you have captured well the emotional difficulties of being crippled by shyness. I particularly like the last line - so positive. Best wishes for your entry.

Great way to express it in your lovely poem! And I think many writers are naturally shy. It takes time to observe and think and reflect and these are things that extroverts don't have time for. Best wishes in the contest!

You describe your shyness in such a strong and purposeful way, and paint a picture of what it is like to not feel comfortable in the situation you find yourself in.

Your poem is very well done. Shyness can cause a lot of problems in life, but maybe keep us from some problems as well. I like your closing lines:
"Today I don't see myself as shy, just a quiet girl who has finally found her voice."

Thanks, yes shyness can cripple people.
I'm glad you were able to find a way to overcome it.
And those things you missed out on, well maybe you can try to do something similar now.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the competition.
