-It was a terrible day, a blot on our history and democracy.

YES, in what is presumed to be one of the most civilized nations in the world, this vicious rebellion took place. Over 700 have been arrested; I don't know how many are in jail. Your poem is well-written and powerfully worded.

You did a great job with your poem on the anniversary of that disastrous day on many levels, Dove. I like the color scheme, the end rhymes, the great image, and the message. It will be interesting to see with future elections and more of the news articles about this day.

I'm sure that day is something most of us would rather not remember, I still can't believe it even though I witnessed it with my own eyes. Your piece is written well and I too hope/pray for truth and honesty.

I am hoping the same. . .unfortunately, we have the same president which means we have no president, only a figure head puppet who is doing the bidding of other people. I think about the people who crashed the White House and a part of me says. . .oh my, terrible. The other part of me sees the White House as being every American's house and they have every right to enter it. . .and make their anger be known when our rights are being challenged, our democracy is being challenged and those who should be protecting it. . .sit in the wings and watch it happen. THEN, one more time put the blame on the sitting president who was elected BY THE PEOPLE. I'm left with little hope for the people in our country who are crying out for freedom. Best of luck with this piece. It resonates with the emotions of our country.
