Nature's fury cannot be tamed, whether in the form of fire, wind, rain or waves. We need to respect it and not be foolish enough to challenge it. Only stupid chaps try to defy whitecaps...

Hello June, I have seen the Atlantic crashing over the sea wall in Scotland. What we are experiencing now is every day. It has rained for a month. I think my dog is going mouldy! Love, K xx

Aussie,

This is a spectacular poem about the power of the ocean and how one is foolish to trifle with it. It amazes me to hear of the multi thousands of ships known to have gone down, and that makes me wonder about the ones lost without record throughout history. I have great respect for those who have, and still do, seek their fate upon it.

Sue

Hello Sue, Thanks so much for reading. And for your splendid review. We are in monsoon weather, raining heavily for a month. The dog has gone mouldy! We have unmanned lighthouses along the coast but back in the 1800's many ships were wrecked, lit fires were not enough to warn ships. Blessings, Kay xx

A very good acrostic poem .a double one at that! Mighty waves ! Really they are mighty and yet men wants to conquer them and ride them ! All the best for the contest.

The ocean is a wonderful place to be when all is calm, but can break havoc when disturbed. I would hate to be in her path when that happens. Yet some try and tame her by challenging her in a storm, me I enjoy her at calm moments.

Hello new friend, Thanks so much for reading. No one should challenge the might of the sea. Her moods and rips can drown those who do take their lives in their hands. Blessings, Kay xx

You have crafted a vivid poem, with startling imagery and I was just reading about a similar situation here, eroding our shoreline. I like your use of alliteration - very effective. Best wishes for your entry

Hi friend Kay. Lol. yes, but I'll only be there for a day or so. I'm running on empty at the moment, no ideas. It would be good if the Aussies could beat them at their own game. Lol!

Your description in this poem is so vivid I can almost hear the roar of the waves as they crash against the shore. It's dreadful that so many beaches have closed due to the power and thrust of mighty ocean waves. Your verbal imagery is artistic and imaginative. Best wishes in the contest.

Your well-written poem is vividly descriptive of the power of the oceans to engulf those who get too close. Some take fools chances. You have made excellent use of figures of speech and alliteration.

My word, what an incredible sight. The power of the waves is something to be respected. I commercial fish in the summer, and I know that it doesn't take much wind going against a tide to create some very large, very uncomfortable waves. Thanks for sharing this picture and the fine poem you've written Aussie.
Have a blessed day.
Tom
