I like the image of the giant waves in your words. There is a feeling that the ocean is in control and we must not get too close. Excellent acrostic poem that is unique and creates a vivid picture of nature.

Hello my friend, Thanks for reading, glad you enjoyed. We are on flood watch here; 600mm crossed the coast last night; remnants of a cyclone. Love, Kay xx

Wow, what a dramatic verse, Kace. I did not know you all were having problems with the shores and beaches. Very good job on this rhyming poem with the theme that catches the attention of your reader.

Hi Kace, it's crazy sweetie pie how these suffers chase
the largest/biggest waves they can...between just the danger
of the water itself...they have to contend with the sharks...
it's amazing to watch them...but sooooo dangerous...there is so much power behind the water...
I love your poem my wonderful friend...and love the picture...I would love to have been the person taking the picture...very well written you...love much...Linda xxoo

Hello Louie, Tanka you for your kind review. Gloria loved it - high praise coming from her. She is such a lovely lady. It has been raining for a month; never seen weather like this. I think those stupid surfers should be fined for putting our life guards at risk. Much love Kace.

    good job you🧨🧨✨✨🥇💖...

you might find some of those life guards riding a wave...but it's dangerous for anyone to be out there...

the weather is crazy here as well...it's snowing more in the southern states than in the northern ones...but we are still getting the bitter cold...the temp is -3...that's not the wind chill...ok...I'm going to bed sweetie pie...cuddle under my soft cotton blanket...I made...much love to ya...Linda xxoo goodnight...have sweet dreams...Benny too...

We are on flood watch. A cyclone crossed the coast last night and dumped 600 mm of rain. The river is rising and I am 12 mins away from it. Last time this happened, it rose so high took out the CBD and climbed the sea wall and boats were in our local beautiful park. Love to you corny!

OMG Kace...be careful...are you and Benny going to have to leave your home?...did you hear the cyclone???...take care...keep me in touched...now I'm going to worry...they can clean up the park...but they can't replace you and Benny...your in my prayers...so is Benny...love to you both...much...xxoo

Have a look on U Tube. I sent you a video - Maryborough Floods. We are OK, far enough from the river which is peaking today @ 10.4 Metres/not as high as last time when we had to be sand bagged. Benny got to go for a walk this a.m.
reply by l.raven on 08-Jan-2022
I'll go watch the video...glad to hear you are save...

we're in an ice advisory...I went out to go
to the store...and was sliding all over the place...everyone was...never would have gone if I knew it was that bad...I don't mind driving on the snow...but not ice...there is no control...you and Benny stay safe...much love xxoo

WOW! What an ominous warning and event, Aussie. You did a super job with your acrostic. Everything work perfectly together--the image is awesome, the color scheme's perfect, the rhyme is super, and your message is loud and clear. It' a wonder that those surfers are o stupid to brave the power of the ocean.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

This is a superb acrostic poem, and that wave reminds me of Point Break, and I can imagine surfers might think this is a challenge to be taken.

Excellent use of rhyme and alliteration to draw forth a truly scary series of ocean waves brought on by the wind.

Nice work on this, and great luck with the Committee. :))

Hello my friend, Thanks so much for your splendid comments. It's been raining for a month now, high winds and cyclone off the coast. I have heard of Point Break (in a movie?)
Hope you and yours had a lovely Christmas. Benny and I did. He doesn't like prawns (shrimp) good! Of course we have cold fare, so he did enjoy the leg ham and chicken. Growing up mum cooked a baked dinner, some oldies still do. I used to bake pork and baste it with orange juice/ soy sauce, yum. We have a terrible wave of Covid and told to stay home. This is affecting all services with so many workers sick. Hope you are well. Love K xx PS: I think Benny-dog is going mouldy!

This is a well done acrostic about the damaging effects of waves and how stupid some people can be in ignoring that danger on windy days. I like the change in rhyme shemes between stanzas to show slighly varying sides to the story.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Good luck wishes regarding the Acrostic Poetry contest, Kay. If the picture wasn't just simply terrifying, then your words surely were. I really loved the rhyme pattern of this one. Your words definitely inspired the doom and dread of people who were willing to fight these waves. Very well done and greatly by sadly enjoyed.

Hello my friend. Many thanks for reading. It has been raining for a month, even the dog is mouldy! I was going to plant veggies, decided to wait it out. The sound of the waves hitting the shore is something to experience. I live on the coast where the whales come to calve and play. Many blessings, K xx

Joking! Now we are on flood watch :-(
reply by aryr on 07-Jan-2022
Amazing, a flood watch? What we have here is a rising river, apparently it hasn't flooded the RV park in about 45 years, so time will tell. Do take care.

Have a look on U Tube - Maryborough floods. The peak is due tonight @ 10.4. Last time it jumped the sea wall and flooded the town. We have flood gates erected in town. :-) xx
reply by aryr on 09-Jan-2022
Wow, that was amazing, so glad you have flood gates, Kay.
reply by the author on 10-Jan-2022
Unfortunately, the gates failed because the water came up from underground. Thirty-one shops gone, one girl lost. Today, the sun is shining and the water peaked at 10 M it is now dropping. I couldn't believe our 2 acre park was full of water with a bull shark swimming around! K xx
