I love these elegant birds, they always look regal wandering in the water. A wellwritten three line poem June, and your ending line,
Cattails wave goodnight - is a beauty. Made me smile, cheers,
valda

I think all birds are so graceful and elegant - they flow with the wind and enjoy the moment. I often wish I could just take wing and fly away...I'm glad you liked this short one.

Hello June!
I'm smiling as I write = such a lovely 5/7/5 poetic offering. In my mind's eye, I can visualize both the white heron and the cattails. Beautiful imagery.

Thank you for sharing!
Best Wishes!

Those herons are marvellous birds and you captured a moment here as they gracefully fly like huge cranes blotting the sun in the sky, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you! I think herons are such graceful birds soaring across the marshlands. I remember those lovely poems you wrote about many of our feathered friends.

I learned something today - bulrush is another name for the cattail plant! Thank you for reading and sharing that tidbit!
