The prompt for this was: 'Poem, any style, expressing gratitude for one who made a difference in your life.' and this free verse was such an original response. A true story in all probability, and such a delightful one too.

You have said it all in inundating dimensions. What an exquisite way to express gratitude; and more so having it done in a poem!

Congratulations! And thanks very much for sharing it with us. And I harbour no hesitation whatsoever in recommending it highly for the writing prompt.

Excellent work. Bravo.

Kinda neat. Conceptionally, I love it.
That said, I wouldn't have given my wife a rock to keep handy in case...
you know of a manly mistake, such as taking what she said, differently than what meant. As Charley Harper often said to overcome the opposite sex... "I understand." That continues to have positive outcomes.

Thanks for you read and review. Wonder why rated good? What suggestions for improvement?

Good isn't bad. I enjoyed the visualization. It had substance but it didn't quite flow for me. Still, each of us write differently, and I know as I read my works at different times, they sometimes read better than others. All poetry should be read aloud by the author to grasp the intent of their words.

This is the best gratitude poem entry I have read and you get my vote. Very nice job. Good luck in the contest. Stay safe and stay healthy in the new year.

Your wife must be a very patient and loving person as my idea of a rock is a diamond set in a ring to wear on my finger, not a lump of granite sitting on my bedside table! Your wife might had been a little disappointed to say the least!

Just kidding with you. A sentimental and warm thoughtful thanks to a great long lasting relationship, love Dolly x

I promised her if I die first, she can crush my ashes into a diamond that she can wear on a dangling chain between her breasts. So she will still be my rock and have a diamond, too. Thanks for the read and your review. I always appreciated your comments and humor. Wow! Another new picture, I think I like the previous one a bit better.

A dangling chain with you still close to her heart, that sounds sentimental. This is my winter attire in my picture! Ha ha ha x x x

Well, you look good in winter and summer.
