Wendy,

I think this is awesome. I remember the first iPhone my mom got -- she gave it away almost immediately! hahahahaha It was so intimidating. But she is a brave and hearty soul, afraid of almost nothing - so of course, she tried again, and hung in there. She's doing great. She doesn't get it all, of course, and makes mistakes - but that's perfectly fine. We love it!

Thanks, my friend!

Thanks Robyn for a very encouraging review. This story is fiction, but it is possible. Still trying to encourage my mother to get an Ipad, but she is at least starting to play games on her great-grandson's one! Wendy

Thank you for sharing this writing prompt with us. Yes, the elderly does have problem with technology, but they do learn and enjoy it. I enjoyed reading this heartwarming story.

Thank you Barbara for reviewing my fiction story. Appreciated.
I am hoping that one day a few of these things may be realized for my mother!

A wonderful gift here, a present that will prevent the feeling of isolation, something to amuse and most of all helps with communication to quell the loneliness, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly. I appreciate your time and thoughts on my little fiction story ... prompted by the thoughts of my mother, who hasn't yet got to this point!

Links of love in a chain, Milly said and yes, the iPad really was! I know how grandpa feels, I am frightened of doing zoom and I don't know how to show pictures or videos...I feel like I am too old and learning disabled to learn from anyone I know. I love this fictionalized story it just hit too close to home for me! Thanks for writing this, maybe I will have to brave it all and, try to do zoom so, I can join a chat group I have been meaning to join!
Have a wonderful day!
Jesse

Thank you Jesse for your thoughtful review. You can join a chat group and just send messages without video calls or Zoom if that is easier.
I am sure you would be capable of learning it. Once you get the hang of it, it's not hard. I appreciate your review and thoughts.

This is the way of the world in communicatios and for my writing. My grandchildren are the pros as told here. The aged ones require tons of help. A sweet family story of the world of gadgets.

[iPad] is the correct spelling.

Sending you my best today as always and best regards for the vote,
Sal XOs...

A case of welcome to the latest of the silver surfers. It seems Grandpa had been asleep like Rip van Winkel and has finally woken up in the 21st century. You are never to old to learn.

Although fiction, it is based on my mother who is slowly creeping into the 21st century, having rejected this technology for the last twenty years! She has started, but has definitely not caught up to this grandpa! Thanks so much for reviewing.

Sometimes the young don't have a clue why the elderly baulk at at modern technology, it's not part of their world, but it can be if the young will take the time to be patient, wisdom speaks communication. Blessings Roy

Thank you so much Roy. I think they are nervous of what they don't understand, and fear making mistakes. Thanks so much for reviewing. Greatly appreciated.

It's not easy to define, mean or explain the relation, feelings of your grandpa, it's something more than mere word love-affection, your grandpa responds to all your calls, gifts, act and expression, he loves also to his granddaughter, link is maintained, even he expresses his emotions; he sent you a card and selfie on your birthday and even he has made a WhatsApp group of your family; well said, well done; keep writing.
