Yesterday was my official Christmas with our sons, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, and of course, the dog. I fell dead into bed around 8:45. I think I played four games of Scrabble.

This is an amusing poem. I like how there appears to be a soliloquy by a puppy. But then they are shutdown by the eavesdropping, observant parent. There is good use of onomatopoeia. You transport the reader to this sensory experience.
