The Cardinal is such a stunning sight. ..it's the colour of passion.
In winter it would warm my heart to see such a beautiful and vivid hued bird.
I would put out a bird feeder just to keep such a gem near..
the cardinal is silent ( in meditation) in winter and will only start to sing when it senses the days getting longer
( due to the change in light )
so its song tells us that Spring is near and it starts to think of finding a mate.
I wish I could have one ( sigh)

I am lucky to have the cardinal as an an occasional visitor to our burning bush shrub in front of my home. When he appears on snow ladened branches, the contrast in colors is spectacular as is my selected photo for this post. Thanks for your support for my contest entry. Hopefully others will take a similar interest.

Let?s pray for a good winter. In my neck of the woods, they will have a white Xmas. I actually see the cardinals perching on the burning bush in front of my home. It s a fantastic contrast when snow drapes the branches.
