Great Poem! I agree with this author's words. The author's words
are strong, descriptive, meaningful and creative. Thank you for
the author's notes - they make this situation clear. The poem flows
and connects well. The title and artwork of these words are perfect!

Rainbows are God's creation; why adopt the symbol for one's own? I have never heard of such weird thing. We were put on earth to care for God's wonders. They are His.

Thank you so much for reviewing. I agree. They adopted the rainbow colour to represent a spectrum of gender identity and sexual preference, as the rainbow is a spectrum of colours.
Comment from Paul McFarland
You have used color very effectively in this piece. A nice idea of having the rainbow be a symbol from God. I respect your opinion about others using the symbol for their own purpose.

This is a very interesting take. I remember the biblical story of the Great Flood and how the rainbow is suppose to be symbol of the covenant between God and man about never doing a flood again. The story is good but has flaws, because you don't need rain to form a rainbow. Speaking of physics rainbows should have been seen long before a flood.
Good work.

Okay entry for the A Rainbow writing prompt contest.
Putting down gay people with their rainbow flag in the name of God is contradicting and not very christian of you.

Thank you for reviewing. I do appreciate that. However I am not putting down gay people. I have friends who are gay. I accept them and their choices, but I don't think they have the right to take God's rainbow promise and change its meaning. It's not PC to say so of course. Sometimes I think Christians need to be brave enough to state what they believe. Everyone else does. Nevertheless I hope you judged my work on its literary merit or lack thereof, and not because of the theme.

Interesting piece and well written. WE must remember that we were given free will by a completely loving and just God. Does it make sense to you that a loving and just God would punish his creation for exercising the freedom that He Himself granted? Good luck in the contest. ann

Very well written and so true. I like the way that you have put each verse in the colours of the rainbow. And I like your closing verse:
"So let's reclaim the sign
The rainbow's still not theirs
It's God's own promise - His not mine -
And shows us that He cares."

The poem is beautiful and smooth flowing. The rainbow means many things to many people. But the poet's perspective steeped in the Christian faith sees it as a sign of God's promise and he/she warns the world about straying from God's path.
As a poem it is excellent.
Best wishes and regards. God bless.

The rainbow is always at its brightest and best when set against a dark and stormy sky. The promise then seems to counterbalance the threat, it always seems to me. Pleasantly presented in the colours of the rainbow.
