You sure made me think about making you, my girl
on this poem right here. Nevertheless, you have great skill...
that simply touches the souls of your readers. And that's what
poetry should do, For, if Truth prevails as it should, the proof will
ring out like yesterday". I like that!!! Stay Blessed. And definitely,
Stay Connected.

Totally spoiled by three reviews from you today. I appreciate it! This one--autobiographical--did not end as hopefully as I wished. He still wandered and eventually left. Still, no time for regret! Love came along that more than filled my heart! -- You stay blessed as well!
    Thanks again, Karenina

' We Pledged Our Troth ' , is an exceptionally well-written and deftly descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post. To me this is definitely a six. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Great repeating line with "our love will bloom as yesterday." The woman would have to be pretty forgiving in this case. It seems that she's actually caught him with another woman. What happens will depend on whether he tells the truth. As the narrator says, she's treasured every vow. Does he feel the same? You'll have to write a follow up to let us know what happens. judi

I'll tell you now. This was MT first husband. I believed in our marriage the believed in cheating.

He walked out on me and his children 35 years ago, at Christmas.

He never looked back, nor did he support his children, ever.
His bright bouquet" faded...I hear he is on marriage number five.

Imagine discarding your children, never knowing of your grandchildren

Ed has been a loving husband and the father and grandfather that is priceless.

We pray for husband one these days.

    Thanks for your review!

I find that you have come back stronger than ever. Maybe it's just because we missed you so much, but I think maybe you took advantage of the time to store up some really good words.

Thank you! I did try to learn a few of these complex forms! I found this one very challenging. I wrote this about my first husband...

Despite my hopes, he never changed his cheating ways.

He walked on me and his kids 35 years ago, at Christmas...

    He never looked back.

I hear he's on his fifth marriage.

Ed and I found all we could have hoped for. He is the dad my children know, the grandad who finds joy in every smile.

We pray for the man my children call "the sperm donor"--

I hug them extra tight each Christmas!

Thanks for your beautiful comments and those shiny six stars!

Hello karenina, your poem is beautifully sad.

Great repeating line:
If truth wins out, as truth should do
(k, if only truth would win, the world would be a more beautiful, gentler place.)

Also:
Our love will bloom as yesterday...
(Hopefully, that is one forgiving heart.)

Silky rhyming, well-chosen artwork. A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Thanks! In real life (sigh) there was no happy ending...

Except the inspiration for this poem!

A vow is only as good as the heart that keeps it. A false vow is like our dollar, it's Fiat currency, and no longer backed by gold or silver. So sorry for this disappointing end. I hope you got some good things from the union like children and grandchildren. It makes it worth it. A fine poem with a painful truth within. Hug those sweet things....
Sending you my best today as always, dear. I hope you are on the mend!
Sal XOs...

I know nothing of the required style, but the poem was sad yet beautiful. People say never trust again... but I will be forever grateful I didn't listen. The love of my life cheated twice (but not on me). When we were together everyone told me I was stupid, because he would do it to me too. He said he would never and as far as I know, we lived happily ever after forever.

Hugs, Carol

Well done on this Kyrielle Sonnet. Great rhyming and flows smoothly. You have done well on this different form. I like the optimism your poem presents that true love prevails in spite of obstacles.

HI Karenina, first things first...how are the hands doing now???...I hope your still improving as the days go by...painless...

I wish I could say...our love will bloom as yesterday...
but if he'll do it once...the chances are...he'll do it twice...and there would always be that feeling...of...do I trust him...

it doesn't mean someone couldn't change...I believe in some cases...it has worked out...but true love would have to be felt in both hearts...

I love your poem my sweet friend...and your picture is perfect...very well written sweet girl...love you...Linda xxoo

    Hey Linda!

    You are so right!

Despite this poem my first husband never stopped cheating until he walked away from me and the kids...

    His loss.

I am doing super well--I appreciate you asking!

    Merry Christmas!

This was indeed beautiful, sad but beautiful, Karenina. I loved the picture, it was so simple yet complex. I really enjoyed the words of the Kyrielle Sonnet because although they showed hope for what has been they also showed sadness. Very well done.

    Hope springs eternal...
    Until it doesn't...

    Alas, our marriage was doomed.

I got it right the second time around!

    Thanks!
