It is so sad when someone feels this way about himself. If he is that truthful about his faults, he should work on changing them so that he could like himself agian.

I was taken by this free verse poem because it is a self-reflection of one who knows is character flaws and hates himself in a moment of clarity. While he realizes this, he will not change as the cake is already baked.

This is good free verse. Most of us are our own worse enemy. If we think a lot, we start to realize how imperfect we are, and it begins to destroy our creativity. Maybe we should just focus on thinking about others and what may be there strong points and ways we can help them and lay off of our self analysis.

Glad it is fiction because this artwork spooked the beejeepers out of me, here at 5:00 am, alone... It is a super entry for the contest - and it contains thoughts many of us have. It is rather unkind, in a poetic way, and shows one who needs love and caring. Best of luck to you in the contest.

I didn't think it was autobiographical especially the part about backstabbing. I can't imagine a Marine being a backstabbed. Very nice job. Good luck in the contest .

Only someone with conscience can see these things. Others just ignore them. To know your enemy is the first step to conquer it. For me it's a lifelong battle.
