The contest entry you have entered for the contest entry contest is well explained with great examples. Tom, the main guy here, hopefully, will choose this as one of the contest ideas. Well done.

Thanks, Liz. Tony, tfawcus, does a lot of sestinas and says he probably wouldn*t take the challenge.

Well, that was a thing. As this bestina is just as complicated as a sestina, I think this contest would not have many stalwart entrants. But I liked the example and the "Friends should be a friend's best dog."

Just a sestina takes a dozen revisions with probably the same numer of end word changes,

This tangles up the reader totally. I have read it carefully twice, and still haven't managed to work out whether it is possible to write a beastina poem or not (I suspect not). because of the tangle factor, it is in my opinion the best of the Contest Contest contest entries.

Thanks, Katherine, for giving this a look. Sestinas we?re originally just an exercise for mining word groupings before building a sonnet or such. They are difficult to produce with meaning.

Wow... This is a well thought out pattern-required poem.
There are many poets who enjoy word-crafting choices into pre selected patterns.
For me, I would have to change the name of your type of poem for a 'Best'ina to a 'Beast'ina.
I am not one of those chosen word-crafters who enjoy complex patterns.
You might have a winner idea, because there are far better poets in the world than me!
Enjoyed your idea for a contest.

This is probably the most in depth of the entries that I have read. I don't think it's one I would enter because I'm not really a poet. But I'm sure this one would draw some interest. Good luck in the contest.

I've written one or two sestinas and found them quite a challenge, even when using a grid to keep the lines on track. This sounds like a beast from the underworld in comparison. Clearly explained, though.

Thanks, Tony. I use this to exercise these literary elements while suffering through the regular format. I doubt anyone would enter this contest.

I confess... I've lost my marbles! Am I missing the point? Is this sardonic wit and I'm the only one not in on the "contest contest" joke? And what is the meaning of life? Not sure if I should laugh PR cry at this point!

In this fictional work you have shown with examples how a word could be used for dimensional use, application, exemplification, usage in antonyms and synonyms; moreover, word jugglery in innovative work and application is again creative, I like and haVe enjoyed the read; well said, well done; keep writing. This is a contest contest and at last, I get it!! What a unique idea...your form is quite expansive and yet simplistic if studied closely. I love the part about Pancake. You have a great entry here for the contest and I wish you the best of luck. Nicely explained and set out so one can use it.
