This is a great list with a great punchline. Well worded and thought through. "Frisson" was is a new word for me. Now you just need a joke in here about someone being so good looking that they are radioactive. Anyway, nice work.

I taught high school and college students for 38+ years. Always shared with my students to keep their "failing" tests, quizzes, essays, etc. and use them to learn and grow.
Nope.
Few did.
Didn't want to be reminded of "failure."
Sad.

Wow, this is good! Your poem is very orderly, like an outlined paper. You explain, in concrete terms where failure "hangs out." That casual phrase makes the fear a real being.
Failure hangs out in hallowed halls of academia...this is my favorite line because the thought is spot on. Fear hangs out in empty spaces, space void of what SHOULD be there. At the end of the poem you refer to giving fear permission, almost like a permission slip from a teacher to be in that afore mentioned, empty hallway. For that reason, and this is only an opinion and suggestion...I would add two words to the end of your poem..."and room." No offense intended. Quite the opposite. I am quite taken with your poem! It is true, well-written and has a timeless and necessary theme.
Great write, deserves a six but I am fresh out.
