I enjoyed reading your well-constructed contest entry. It has much action that engages the readers (me) from start to finish. Your word are well chosen and filled with great descriptions. I could see everything as I read. Throughout the story, the focus in on love--that of the little town, the family, and offerings from God. Even with a few doubts, He was present in everyone's life. I like the way the ending focused on that.

This is an interesting and very descriptive story of faith and love. I've had venison stew and rabbit stew, but never together. I pondered the taste, but realized it would be perfect for a cold evening. I could easily visualize the shops, school, and church on Main street.

There's no Chrylser, Packard, or Studebaker is traveling today. (You may want to remove the word "IS")

John has a deep love for this little town, and it's where he wants to raise our family. (You may want to say "his" family. "Our" makes it sound like you've switched to 1st person for that one sentence.

This is a loving heartfelt story. Best wishes in the contest.

I love your story, so very well written. What a great community working together to make sure everyone was safe during the storm, trusting God to protect them. I love the ending where all gather together to worship. Truly God looks after us, often in ways we cannot understand.

This story has everything, pathos, hope, despair, love, and miracles...what a Christmas story of glory and wonder. You have written this in a plain-spoken manner that will appeal to everyone.
