A truly well-written poem Yvonne. I once visited the site and looked down on the sunken ship. You're absolutely right. It does bring tears to the eyes to think of the supreme sacrifice made by all those young men. Thanks for this beautiful reminder.

This is an excellent poem to commemorate that day. Those were times when there wasn't any cause to doubt the reason we were catapulted into war. Those were days when patroitism meant something. The young men who fought knew why they were fighting and that it was a cause worth putting their lives on the line. So many paid the untimate sacrifice.

I'm glad to see you feel the same. It's becoming dimmer with time. Few are left who care. Thanks, Beth.

You said it beautifully, Yvonne!
I have been at the USS Arizona Memorial a number of times and
"where Arizona lies
and oil leaks still from wreckage seep,
'twill bring tears to your eyes."
The sheer number of lives lost is overwhelming.

It is! I want everyone to remember, but sadly, fewer and fewer people care. Thanks, Helen.
