Hello Yvonne, a timely tribute to veterans of WWII, men of the greatest generation ever. I especially liked:

Salute the flag and bow your head
for those who are no more.
(So very true)

Good club entry for the "Picture this". Silky rhyming. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

A moving tribute to those lost on December 7th and those who fought in WWIi.
So few are left now, we must remember their sacrifice. My grandmother lost her youngest in the war. He was 22
Beautiful tribute
Best wishes
Mary

Thank you. I'm sorry for your grandmother's loss. I know the pain of losing a son.

Always remember. WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.
Yes I will for the family members and good friends who went, saw, fought and returned. A few had visible and a few, invisible scars. A few did not return,
This poem is dedicated to the war that started on this very day, 12-7-21.
The rhythm and rhyme are good. The words are direct in the interpretation. Thank you for your poem on this anniversary. There are very few survivors. I am sure that we will be tested again but today, we salute our warriors. Thank you.

Thank you for this wonderful review and stars. Yes, sadly, there are fewer and fewer who still remember. I'm finding out that today's youngsters know very little, if any, about it.

I think that World War II was a day of infamy as President Roosevelt have stated it. Excellent work! No grammatical errors. Thank you for sharing! I have enjoyed reading it.

An excellent poem for this day that will live in infamy. There are so few left. I am the first wave of "baby boomers" born in 1946 and we remember, because our parnets taught us to remember. Good job.

I was born in 1943, and felt like I'd been there from hearing it talked about. Thank you for reviewing.

Hi Yvonne, it was a wake-up call for the United States, and it was somehow the salvage for the rest of us as you entered the war. I don't think we would have won the war without you.
It's an emotional poem for the club. I really liked it. Ulla xx

I've always said if England had not held Hitler off like they did, he would have been over here in a flash. Hitler said he never saw people who would not give up.
reply by Ulla on 07-Dec-2021
That is true as well, but I can only say they, the the British, could not have held them off without your help. The rest of us were all occupied by the Nazis.

Only nine U. S. fighter pilots fought during the Battle of Britain.

Good Morning, Yvonne,
You have penned a very moving tribute and remembrance of this terrible day...
I have visitied Pearl Harbor; I cannot begin to describe the emotions that coursed through me. Of course, my uncle became a casualty of WWII: Survivor of Bataan Death March and Cabanatuan Prison only to be killed by American torpedoes when chained in the hold of the Japanese Death Ship, the Arisan Maru...
I never met my uncle, but I must share that his life and death have deeply affected me...
Thank you for sharing; I wish I had six stars to share...

I understand about your feelings for your uncle. I lost family in WWII and in Viet Nam. But to have someone Bataan is remarkable. How horrible to be in the ship, torpedoed by his own countrymen, but they had no way of knowing he was there. Thank you for sharing this very moving incident in your life.

A wonderful poignant poem and well written of a day that will never be forgotten and shouldn't be. The tragic loss of life in just a few hours leading to the loss of many more in the years to come. Thanks for sharing.

It was a horrible time, but it's slowly being forgotten already. Thanks, Kooky.

This is a lovely poem, or the Picture This club, about commemorating Pearl Harbour, Yvonne, and not forgetting what happened that day back in history.

Commemorating Pearl Harbor
The Day of Infamy
damommy your well written with rhyming words reminds me when My mother and Dad heard that Pearl Harbor was attacked had the radio on and Mon and Dad heard that when Pearl Harbor was bombed ""I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

So true. It was the wrong thing to do as far as the Japanese Empire was concerned. Sadly, fewer and fewer are remembering this day.

You are so right there are too many forget the that day, I'm glad you brought back to me, when I was seven and watching the reaction of how my Mom and Dad felt as I recall was was not good.
