Nicely written Rispetto poem about an old abandoned place. I love taking pictrues of places like this. I aways wonder about those who lived there and if there was happy times are sad times within the walls. A house deserted always looks sad.

Hello Yvonne.
I really like the message in this poem. It has an air of nostalgia and the image reflects that feeling. I particularly like the last two lines because they define the mood of the poem. The rhyme and meter are superb.

I like this poem, it is easy to read and tells a sad story. Great picture of the abandoned house, and the broken down fence and gate. I like the way you ended it - even though it is in bad condition, there's nobody there to see it anyway.

I love the artwork you've used Yvonne, and your descriptive Rispetto. It is sad to see once family homes left to disintegrate, almost like the memories too are forgotten. Your emotions -nothing left but dark despair - go perfectly. Lovely poem. Cheers

- your choice of a 'Rispetto' was perfect for 'The Gate';
- both your rhyme and rhythm were perfect;
- such natural and easy flow to the poem;
- perfect, perfect choice of artwork;
- awesome imagery of the rusty old gate in the first stanza;
- I really love this last stanza - the feeling of loneliness and loss, as if the gate and old house could feel;
- perfect last line
Very deserving of six stars!
