Enjoyed this free verse showing us the imagination of a child who loved his grandfather and made so many uses of Gwampa's cane!

This is a most beautiful and heart touching free verse. I loved it from the title and all the way through to the end. I have one grandson who always called my husband Gwumpa, and only one, so of course the title caught my attention. You have expressed these thoughts and memories perfectly. Your poem moved me, sparking memories of my own childhood playing with my grandmother's cane. When going over there for Sunday dinner. Now watching the next generation using there imagination with my cane.

A charming free verse piece inspired by memories of 'Gwumpa's cane.' It reminds me a little of those stories that started 'The life of a ....' that used to be so popular in school.

I enjoyed reading the many uses that you found for the stick and your delight that a younger generation also finds imaginative games to play with it. I wonder if it will survive to delight even more generations.
