I enjoyed this fictional account thoroughly. I find it very creatively written with a fine beginning, interesting middle and a great ending. What else a story needs? A very creative and clever take on D.B. Cooper's story. Good luck in the contest!

I enjoyed your story a lot. In a practical sense it would be impossible for him to do this without detection - land, dispose of parachutes, get home with the money, write a note and bury it with the money ... but it is an enjoyable fiction story. Best wishes for your entry.

Thank you for reading and reviewing my story. He asked for the parachutes to make sure they gave him one that worked, he only used one and the rest were left on the plane.

Wow. Wouldn't that be something? The only thing is that $200, 000 isn't near what it was when DB hijacked that plane. On the other hand, if someone handed me that kind of money, I certainly would not turn my nose up at it. *smile* This was a nice, simple, unexpected sort of story. I enjoyed it. The characters, including the narrator, seem real. The ending leaves the reader with questions--and that's good thing because the rest of the story plays with the idea that the father is D.B. Cooper. I especially like the language you use to create the impression that the narrator is an army veteran. That impression is not central to the story, but it adds depth to the narrator. I also like the contrast between the dad's training and his MOS, or at least what he actually does. Typical army. The jump training feeds suspicion, of course. The fourth paragraph as run-together sentences. Jeff
