My Brother is Back in Town is a fun on-going with brother John. You have a special way of having his personality (and father's) come out in conversation and their reactions.

error: "....caught the train to move(to) Dallas."
space: "He handed()me a railroad pass..."
word: "...and I was about (to)give you a call."

This is a well written. Nice travel down memory lane in the past.

It's funny reading your story, it's funny how you remember things from when one was younger, my dad's been long gone, and your story reminds me of him. I've been to Dallas, in transit to New York, and I remember the shocking Kennedy assassination, optimism died that day. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo: I caught the train to move (to) Dallas. 2: He handed (me a) a railroad pass
3 : hey boy, didn't know you were (in) town.

You posted this on the 58th anniversary of the Kennedy Assignation. I remember it well also. I was a senior in high school, and in geometry class. Mr. Hines our principle played the radio news on the loud speakers and then dismissed classes at 2:00 pm. Oddly, our football game that night was not canceled. Another good job!

Thanks, Terry. I have decided I am going to do the book we discussed briefly. I'll need lots of pointers. My favorite Southern writer is Rick Bragg. I enjoyed all of his books, but especially 'It's all over, but the shoutin". Do you like him?

Well, of course, they did not cancel the football. Some things are just too important! lol

    Talk later. ann

Did you happen to read the post prior to this one: Life is All About Change? I talked about the day John left to join the military. Thanks for your comments and your time. ann
