What can I say that hasn't been said already? This is skillfully written with perfect meter and rhyme. At first, I thought you were speaking of the moon until I got to the part about 'each eye.' This is beautiful poem that makes one stop and think, reaching for the deeper meaning than just pretty words.

A poem after my heart in Heptameter,
my favorite meter. Man has always
looked to the heavens
for answers and many have been found
there. Well done, Roy. Nancy:)

A very beautiful poem. Th imagery you use and command so well makes the first stanza my favorite. I confess I had the read the last line a few times, because I was not sure of "quirk." But, when I read out loud softly it works very well. Good job.

This is a very skillfully written, profoundly meaningful poem. Through a vivid blend of figurative and literal language, you have sent a powerful message about the limited "brightness," the intellect, of mankind. The light man needs is found only in the Lord.

I used to think I could only find peace and contentment near a body of water, listening to its sound. But since moving to the country, I find myself lost in the stars, talking to my loved ones and, of course, the Lord. Only then, do I feel I can find peace.

Hugs, Carol

I enjoy star gazing myself. I agree with you, When I watch them I think of God and all the amazing things He created for us. He's so awesome. Thank you for sharing.

Great poem, Roy, describing the beauty of the stars, created by God for our pleasure. I like the line in your notes: " Some people actually think they reveal a persons destiny, but I think they reveal the God who made them, and His wonder." I know many people trust the stars to give them direction in life, but I trust the God who made them. He knows my past, present and future.

We believe faith and freedom must be our guiding stars. They show us the truth and give us hope. I am not well versed with the technicalities of poetry. I respond with my emotions when I read one. This is so wonderfully penned. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Roy, I totally agree with you that the stars do guide. Being a sailor myself , I do know that. What they also mean to me is, they are a reminder of how vast the universe really is. We'll, the part we can see. I really liked your poem and it's beautifully written. Again it shows your deep faith. Ulla :)))
